I am pleased to present you my very first terraspace piece :)
I know I didnt posted anything long time ago, but i was learning vue, terragen and 3ds max, and I think it was worth.
Im really pleased with this piece, although, the terrain could be done much better, but I think its not that bad for the first time.

The terrain was done in Vue7 xStream. Render time over 4,5h
Everything else done in photoshop.

Full view please.

C&C are most welcome, especially on the terrain part.

Enjoy :)

For a 'first piece' it sure looks detailed enough to look older than that of a beginner's. :iconclappingplz:

Ahh this is really pretty ^^

I love your use of lighting, and the textures are really great. The swirls of dust are a nice touch, as well.

Pretty nice. Only thing I'd recommend working on is the atmosphere- looks a little fuzzy and unrealistic. Other than that... wow!

I really need to brush up on my own Terragen skills <_<

Beautiful work. The details on the planet are perfect. I love everything about this. But if I can mention one little tiny thing... Meteors don't usually came straight down because of a planet/moon's spin. As they burn in the atmosphere - even a light one - they start to glow red. Like I said a minor detail. I look forward to seeing more from you.

The terrain looks good. I would have gone with a little thinner atmoshpere. Its too thick for its hieght. Also, with the light source so close to being behind the planet there would be almost no lit surface visible, and the moon in front of the planet should have pretty much the same lighting on it. They appear to have different light sources. The starfield looks great though. Keep it up.

Thanks for your comment.
I know the lightning is wrong, but it looked too flat with full thin crescent...:p

Nice job on your first terraspace;)

Some C&C:

because of the high elevation of you viewpoint, the horizon should be far far away but visible(when it's not cloudy).. Your image you created through Vue has that horizon, but it fades away(for my opinin to much), which makes it look like the horizon is gone..

With photoshop you did some resizing in the backgroudn it seems, or something to make the quality verylow.. The background is somehwat dusty and seems a to be a small image enlarged to fit the render.

If you play around a little more with blending options in PS you could make those streaks look a bit better, the could be a bit brighter;) to make the image more crisp.

The big gas planet has a very nice texture, you did a good job on that one;) also the planet close by the gas planet looks good and has a nice shaded side;)

the smaller planet in the middle top has something i cant really place.. The shaded side feels very grey and out of order with the purple-ish backgrounbd.. You might let the shaded side be a bit more visible and less grey, or you could chance the grey to a colour close to the background, to make it a bit more harmonios and fitting;) The strong even grey shade askes unwanted attention to it;)

This could have something to do with the way colours vibrate.. You'll almost never see bright pink or magenta text on a middle grey background, as the text becomes unreadable;)

But a good job, never forget that;) keep practising, terraspace is very hard to create and even harder to master;)

This looks good! B-) I like how the gas giant is losing tendrils of gas, great touch! The overall lighting is a bit off; the terrain is lit from over your left shoulder, but the planets are lit by the star in-screen .... but overall it's a nice piece

I don't know a whole lot about Vue, but can't you use terrains created in something else like TG, Worldmachine, or Geocontrol? I think you can import terrains like [link] and [link] if i'm correct
